OVERVIEW

FF 91 is the first production vehicle and flagship model of Faraday Future. Faraday Future’s mission is to create an innovative automobile that integrates advanced technology with effortless user experience.

The challenge

How might we reduce friction and increase usability of the FF 91 interface?

Faraday Future is accelerating production of the FF 91 but struggle with design gaps across their product experience. Key concerns include inconsistencies, brand appropriateness, aesthetics, intuitiveness, visual hierarchy, and overall usability. Principles are the fundamental elements that shape our products and brand into better experiences. They guide how we approach problems and arrive at solutions.

SOLUTION

Redefining the core experience

We reduced confusion and uncertainty in the experience by simplifying the user flow and interaction patterns, and created visual layers with clear hierarchy and system.

We established clear visual hierarchy across three functional bars — status, launcher, and climate. Multi-tasking functions were consolidated into a compact area that adapts across all sections. Climate controls were restructured for clarity, with ambiguous interactions replaced by directive ones first-time users can understand immediately. Vehicle controls were simplified into a cohesive system with refined iconography that better communicates each function.

Design system

A focus on simplicity

Established and managed FF’s multi-platform design system. Refreshed the visual language and developed our own iconography and visual component library.
